Description

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Quality Document Control Clerk to focus on the administrative tasks related to ISO compliance of quality documents, including but not limited to prints, quality plans, FAIs & other documentation & quality records. Assist as needed in performing inspection of fabricated sheet metal parts, purchased components and mechanical assemblies to determine conformance to customer drawings and specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with in-process, part, and production quality control checks, measuring parts on scheduled and / or periodic basis

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of Quality department documentation as well as compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) & ISO-9001

  • Verify & Interpret drawing specifications, tolerances, Bill of Materials (BOMs), quality standards and procedures or other part acceptance criteria for production personnel. This may include:

  • Ballooning part drawings in Solid Works Inspection Expert

  • Preparing AP100 files for use in Fabrivision programs

  • Determine necessary inspection requirements based upon customer requirements, Purchase Order details, BOM, etc. and create the corresponding quality plans to fulfill said requirements

  • Assist in complying with customer requirements

  • Enter & review all dimensional test results (FAI, CPK reports, etc.) when necessary and applicable

  • Reject products not meeting specifications and hold further processing or shipment until non-conformances are resolved

  • Document non-conforming parts

  • Approve products for manufacturing and shipment

  • Enter Quality reject data into computer files; performs other general administrative operations as directed

  • Assist in system/product investigations and corrective actions

  • Assist in coordination the calibration procedures and recall of measuring equipment

  • Assist in monitoring and evaluation of the elements of the quality system for purposes of continuous improvement

  • Mentor quality technicians and shop personnel by sharing job related information provided by the customer

  • Communicate directly with internal departments on quality matters

  • Assist in training quality inspectors

  • Assist all Quality Team members with their duties and responsibilities as time/priorities allow

  • Perform other duties and functions as assigned by supervisor/management

  • Review daily Q Hold list

  • Print an updated list daily from ERP system

  • Run through list to determine part locations in the facility

  • When parts show as complete (in warehouse or inventory) or close to complete on current shop order pull QA file and verify FAI and any other customer required studies/documents is complete & accurate

  • If FAI complete, send to appropriate personnel or customer

  • If FAI is not complete, find parts and take to FAI inspector for completion

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS (SOME MAY REQUIRE SPECIAL TRAINING)

  • Complete REACH, RoHS and conflict mineral documents per customer requests

  • Complete Country of Origin (COO) and/or USMCA/NAFTA documents per customer request

  • General document control which may include, but not be limited to:

  • Scanning in, filing, and retrieving of supplier certifications

  • Archiving inactive Quality files such as prints, quality plans, etc.

  • Organizing and maintaining obsolete Quality records such as old revision FAIs

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and an understanding of processes used in production, preferably sheet metal, stamping, and assembly environments

  • Must have the ability to determine quality checks required at proper sequences of forming and assembly, read and understand blueprints, and use precision measuring tools

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Experience using a manufacturing ERP system

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma

LOCATION

  • Onsite - Chippewa Falls, WI

SCHEDULE

  • Monday-Thursday, 6:00 am-4:30 pm

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
