Northwest Florida Community Hospital Radiologic Technologist PRN in Chipley, Florida

Education:

Graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college: affiliated or hospital trained.

Experience:

0-3 months - Board eligible

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:

Certified by the State of Florida to practice and administer radiation. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Current BCLS certification.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

Basic computer knowledge. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology

Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatments to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.

Responsible for safe handling of equipment and films and selects appropriate equipment to use for procedures.

Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.

Instructs and prepares patients for radiological and l or fluoroscopic examinations.

Assesses patients' understanding of process and informed consent of invasive procedures.

Assesses, evaluates and informs physician of changes in patient's condition during exam.

Maintains regulatory requirements

Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.

Makes special radiographic examinations requiring special equipment and procedures such as: intravenous pyelograms, mammograms, arthrograms, and surgical exams. Programs portable or stationary x-ray machines and makes radiographs for a variety of examinations. Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
