Electronics Technician I
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Applies technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions.
Performs such tasks as replacing components and wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and conducting routine preventive and remedial maintenance on equipment.
Assists in equipment installation under general supervision.
Performs operations for all assigned equipment.
Performs routine preventive maintenance of digital and analog electronic equipment using work cards and/or technical documentation.
Performs remedial maintenance of digital and analog electronic equipment to the subassembly/ circuit card level using work cards and/or technical documentation.
Performs basic fabrication tasks for the construction of mechanical and electronic assemblies for electronic equipment using detailed technical documentation, data and procedures.
Operates assigned electronic equipment and Range Systems in accordance with detailed operating instructions.
Performs basic equipment installation tasks in accordance with detailed technical documentation, data and guidance from engineers or higher-level technicians.
Prepares and maintains accurate maintenance management and operations documentation.
Other Related Duties:
Performs related work as required.
Qualifications:
High school graduate or high school equivalent. Completion of formal training in an accredited commercial or military electronics school. At least six months of experience operating and maintaining digital and analog electronic equipment. Working knowledge of electronic test equipment used for preventive and remedial maintenance, i.e., oscilloscopes, vector scopes, volt-ohm meters, frequency counters and generators, logic analyzers/emulators and waveform monitors.
Basic knowledge of fabrication and assembly techniques for mechanical and electrical assemblies. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationship with other team members and those contacted while performing required duties. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to operate computers to input and retrieve data accurately. Ability to read, write and understand English. Ability to perform physical tasks including, but not limited to, moderate lifting (45 pounds) and climbing.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid California driver's license.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
Work Environment, Physical and Mental Demands:
Typical environments include working outdoors, on elevated heights, remote work areas, attending meetings, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness. Ability to use a computer to input and retrieve information and data. Ability to travel as required by the Company.
