Facilities Custodian 2024-131 City of Chicopee Position: Facilities Custodian Department: Facilities Employment Status: UFCW Laborers Union, Non-Exempt; Full-Time (40 Hours) Salary: Grade 5L, Step 05 - \$18.31/Hour Schedule: Wed-Sun - 2:30PM - 11:00PM Certifications/Licenses Required: MA Class D Driver\'s License SUMMARY The City of Chicopee\'s Facilities Department is seeking a Facilities Custodian that will be responsible for the performance of routine custodial duties within an assigned municipal building as well as the adjacent grounds in a clean, orderly, safe, and secure condition. ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE: Empty trash. Clean and sanitize bathrooms. Wash, strip, and wax floors. Clean carpets as needed. Mowing the lawn, string trimming, rakes, and leaf blows. Cleaning areas outside the building. Vacuum, clean, and dust inside the building as needed. Enter and respond to work orders as needed or assigned. Small carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work with assistance. Snow removal such as snow plowing, shoveling, snow blower use, and ice melt application. Filling in at different locations as needed or assigned. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Massachusetts Driver\'s License - Required One (1) year of building maintenance - Preferred Working knowledge of landscaping equipment and snow removal equipment. - Preferred Experience with Work Order Management Systems Able to work with Google Docs and Microsoft Office and email. High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three (1-3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
