As the VP, Operational Excellence, you will lead the Operational Excellence Team, tasked with reducing the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) of future projects through operational and strategic initiatives. You will collaborate with business leaders to identify and implement high-value transformative ideas.

Your role involves contributing to the analysis, design, and implementation of initiatives, creating tailored solutions, and ensuring positive and sustainable results in partnership with business leaders. You'll oversee programs aimed at improving LCOE for Wind, Solar, and Storage technologies in the US.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Drive Initiatives: Lead the development and execution of initiatives with business leaders aimed at reducing the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) and delivering cost savings across the operations

  • Estimation and Analysis: Assist business leaders in estimating the value of each initiative. This involves gathering and analyzing data, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing models in collaboration with the business leaders

  • Implementation Roadmaps: Support business leaders in creating detailed implementation roadmaps for identified initiatives. Provide guidance to ensure these initiatives achieve maximum value for each project

  • Industry Best Practices: Research and bring best practices from across the industry to continuously improve technology types and processes within the organization

  • Collaboration and Idea Exchange: Work closely with Operational Excellence colleagues to share and incorporate ideas from other technologies and business units, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

  • Drive the digital transformation of the organization and its practices and drive the process and technology improvements associated with the effort

  • LCOE Optimization Approach: Contribute to developing and codifying methodologies for future LCOE optimization efforts. Maintain an idea log with impact sizing expectations to guide future projects

Job Requirements and Experiences:

  • Bachelor or Master of Science/Engineering or Business Administration or equivalent. An MBA or any equivalent certification is a plus

  • Minimum 10 years of highly relevant experience in Oil & Gas or Electric Power/Natural Gas or Chemicals or Metals & Mining preferred

  • Experience in project management of large-scale operations transformations across departmental or business borders

  • Must have experience in managing projects and leading large-scale operations transformations; experience with digital transformation is preferred

  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

  • Ability to work effectively with all organizational levels

  • Strong verbal, visual, and quantitative communication skills, along with analytical and consultative abilities

  • Demonstrated leadership in team environments; initiative-taker eager to innovate

  • Expertise in designing and facilitating workshops and training for senior business stakeholders

  • Willingness to travel for meetings and workshops

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $200,000 - $280,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
