JOB TITLE: Transmission Project Engineer

LOCATION: Louisiana, Ohio, Texas, Chicago

SUMMARY

The Transmission Project Engineer will partner with project stakeholders to provide technical analyses and planning to ensure projects/designs meet regulatory compliance. Responsibilities will include performing studies evaluating system reliability, economic and regulatory impacts of transmission projects. The Transmission Project Engineer will report to the Vice President Energy & Utilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

§ Transmission Planning: Assessing current network capacity and forecasting future needs based on projected growth and demand.

§ Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that transmission network designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety codes.

§ Technical Analysis: Performing detailed technical analyses such as power flow calculations to ensure network reliability and performance. Ability to support utilities’ Integrated Resource Planning (IRP).

§ Standards: Ensure that all projects meet safety standards in accordance with OSHA, state regulations and other industry best practices.

§ Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.

· Knowledge of transmission and substation facilities and associated planning.

· 2+ years of experience performing transmission system feasibility, system impact and other studies related to load service and generation interconnection requests.

· Familiarity with technical tools such as PSSE, AutoCAD, PLS-CADD.

· 5 + years total of engineering design and/or project management experience in the electric utility industry

· Physical requirements may include but are not limited to:

o 8 hour work days, 5 days a week if project requires

o Ability to lift 25 lbs. at any given time throughout the day

o Possession of valid driver's license

· Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred qualifications include:

· Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) Certification

· Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
