Job Description:

Our client is a nationally ranked pediatric hospital located in Chicago, Illinois. The hospital has 360 beds and is affiliated with the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Our client is looking for a Storage Engineer to support the hospitals entire storage environment. This person's day could be supporting small projects, storage array upgrades, datacenter consultation, deprovisioning storage, code upgrades, shelf upgrades, formalizing policy and procedures, and working to troubleshoot any back up issues.

Further details on the responsibilities and environment below:

• Break/Fix ServiceNow Incidents (File Systems rights and restores)

• Project Support (Implementation for backup/restore process to validate)

• Multi Data center shop - DELL Shop.

• Backup - Data Domain, Power

• 6 SAN Environments (2 Unity, 2 Unity 680, 1 Unity 300)

• NAS - DELL Isilon

• Business Continuity

• Knowledge of DELL VCE RCM updates and how it relates to storage

• Two vBlocks

• VMware shop (from unity to devices to servers)

• Help consult on other projects as well - this person will act as a SME

• Optimizing backups for consistency

Top Skills' Details:

• 5+ years of Systems Engineering with a VMware milieu (provisioning for storage on VMware)

• 5+ years of storage experience, specifically NAS ( Dell Isilon) and SAN (Unity)

• 5+ years working with a backup solution (Cohesity is the preference, but open to other solutions)

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Develops and manages complex projects related to the security infrastructure and related technologies; duties include facilitating meetings and leading efforts.

• Advises management of potential IT security threats and mitigation strategies.

• Provide analysis of system and network threats consistent with Security Certification and Accreditation.

May need to go onsite for data center patching, etc. Will sit Remote, but most be local to Chicago

3-month Contract w/ high probability of an extension
