JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Head of Frontline Tools and Enablement group, the role of Senior Program Governance Manager focuses on providing oversight and support for Frontline Tools governance, leading efforts related to governance and risk management activities, reporting and business plan management. This role will have oversight over all the products within this group, with primary focus on Salesforce. The Senior Program Governance Manager will work closely with Frontline Tools Product Owners, and will manage dedicated product governance managers within Frontline Tools group.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with applicable CIBC and US Region policies and procedures.

  • Provide support to Product Owners and Head of Frontline Tools with presentations and executive communication to various bank committees.

  • Primary point of contact for 2nd and 3rd LOD and any regulatory agency.

  • Responsible for coordinating the remediation of all USCAG QA, Second and Third lines of risk defense findings.

  • Responsible for executive and product level communication.

  • Acts as Record Retention coordinator for Frontline Tools organization and ensures all product records are organized and follow CIBC record retention policy.

  • Works closely with Frontline Tools Product Managers, dedicated product governance managers, and TI&I organization (IT, DMO) to ensure compliance across products and teams.

  • Aside from leading efforts related to managing risk and governance, drive resolution of issues and removal of roadblocks to production by escalating issues and leading cross-functional teams.

  • Identify ways to improve processes so they are lean and efficient while meeting business delivery requirements in line with product backlog.

  • Identify ways to continually improve and enhance quality standards while ensuring compliance and adherence to established processes and guidelines.

  • Identify opportunities to lower costs and manage project/ department budget.

  • Provide leadership and direction for junior members of the team, driving vision/strategy and providing opportunities for junior team members to expand their knowledge and skillset.

  • Set appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals’ roles support the achievement of the product’s priorities and CIBC’s overall goals.

  • Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training.

  • Manage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance and by explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities.

  • Create a positive work environment and be an effective role model by championing CIBC’s mission, vision, and values

  • Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect

  • Hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Financial Services industry

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • A ‘roll up your sleeves’ , ‘can do’ attitude

  • Proven track record of taking a client first approach

  • Well-developed leadership, management, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to excite and lead others in a highly collaborative environment

  • Ability to inspire and influence across large organizations to gain alignment and support on recommended product management tactics and strategies

  • Comfortable speaking to Senior Executive audience

  • Strong leadership and change management skills. Proven ability to work effectively in a constantly changing environment.

  • Results driven and comfortable working with ambiguity and competing priorities.

  • Successful candidates must exhibit CIBC’s values of trust, teamwork, and accountability

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to encourage, motivate, and guide team and install collaboration amongst cross-functional teams.

  • Strong relationship management skills to balance demands of various stakeholders, while also being approachable and assertive

  • Strong business acumen and ability to pick up complex technical concepts easily

  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and project management skills

  • Experience in risk assessment process, including RCSAs

  • Experience in project management
