Our Marketing and Loyalty team is the strategic force behind United’s industry-leading brand and experience, supporting revenue growth by turning customers into lifelong United flyers. Our marketing communications, market research and brand teams drive travelers’ familiarity and engagement with the United brand. Our loyalty team manages United MileagePlus®, building travel and lifestyle partnerships that customers can engage with every day, and works with our Star Alliance partners to ensure United can take you anywhere you want to go.

Key Responsibilities:

MileagePlus is the award-winning loyalty program for United Airlines that rewards customers for their loyalty. The United Currency Bank is the underlying technology platform that powers the MileagePlus program, ensuring its seamless operation. The MP Operations team collaborates with the Digital Technology department to oversee UCB’s functionality and to integrate new features as the program evolves. This team is instrumental in articulating business needs into comprehensive user stories, which then guide the development and testing teams towards successful implementation.

  • Translates high level requirements into detailed level requirements (user stories) to be consumed by the development pods in each sprint, while ensuring stories and features are added iteratively to the product to add overall value

  • Supports backlog management to ensure readiness of user stories for the upcoming sprint

  • Facilitates agile processes such as inception, iteration and story kickoff, estimation sessions, and help to keep team up to date with changes in priorities and to be available to answer questions quickly

  • Analyzes data to ensure features are aligned with product goals/objectives and delivering the most business value

  • Creates acceptance criteria that is clear, concise and actionable; facilitates user acceptance testing

  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise and understanding of the systems, capabilities, and respective technologies

  • Interact with business partners, technology teams, enterprise quality teams, as well as channel teams to communicate loyalty needs and priorities

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience

  • Business Administration, Computer science or other technology field, Project Management or related major

  • 3 or more years experience in IT/Business project management or Business Analyst related work

  • Airline and/or Loyalty Programs

  • Understanding of JIRA or other software lifecycle systems

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to conform to shifting priorities, demand and timelines

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
