About the Role:

The Sr. Novel feedstock Commercial Manager will report to VP Novel feedstocks and will be an expert in agriculture value chain and responsible for negotiation and execution of specific deals.

The person would have an advanced degree in Agriculture, industry and consulting experience across seed development, technology licensing, seed marketing, grain logistics, distribution, and crushing.

The person in role will need to build and maintain strong interfaces within bp but also externally. The job requires strong agriculture expertise and commercial skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support with the structing, negotiation and execution of sophisticated deal structures across ag/bio interface

  • Build bp’s access to regenerative agriculture to monetize the carbon benefits e.g., offsets and low CI fuels

  • evaluate and invest in transformation options including technology licensing and valuation

  • Anticipate and manage non-technical (including legislative, regulatory, reputational, political and social) risks and develop appropriate mitigations

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across bp in an agile way or jointly with partners

  • Find opportunities to extract higher unit economics from interface of ag/bio value chain

  • Support grower adoption, incentives, crushing logistics, CI pathways

  • Maintain active pipeline of third-party opportunities.

Role Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Agriculture

  • Very commercial, pro-active and driven with experience in Agricultural value chains

  • Direct experience working in agricultural value chain across following areas:

  • Seed development, distribution

  • Go-to-market to farmers

  • Grain aggregation, logistics and crushing

  • Experience in deal structuring, deal management, negotiations

  • Exposure to the biofuels value chain and good understanding of biofuel techno-economics

  • Experience in strategy consulting shop a huge plus (e.g. McKinsey, BCG, Bain)

  • Strategic thinker with ability to problem tackle sophisticated and abstract topics

  • Ability to prioritise and respond to dynamic situations and changing policy landscape

  • Strong teammate and excellent interpersonal skills

  • Confident in engaging senior external & internal collaborators
