BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for one region under the VP of Field Sales, needs little direction in managing their region and is relied upon to support other regional level I and level 2 managers with building strategic sales and market growth plans unique to their regions. Communicates directly with VP of Field Sales on identified challenges and proposes solutions to individual region challenges. May be required to manage multiple regions as necessary based on business needs. Is also expected to own and manage a business unit or strategic initiative on behalf of the company. Develops and directs Regional Management team within assigned region(s) to maximize utilization of market potential and ensure the achievement of corporate goals. Participates on teams and leads teams that develop sales team and/or Company-wide initiatives.

REVENUE RESPONSIBILITY (size of zone): TBD DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership to Regional Managers in all phases of management and MSC culture throughout their region(s).

  • Ensures maximum market growth through creating a high growth environment.

  • Teaches, mentors and coaches Regional Managers to improve leadership skills landscape evaluation, strategic planning and sales performance.

  • Consults with senior/executive sales management to develop strategic, long-term sales plans and goals.

  • Acts responsibly as a director level job in a public company.

  • Leads cross functional initiatives at the CSC level. Presents to Steering on strategy initiatives and status of plan to goal.

  • Consults with VP of Field Sales on identifying field sales challenges, cross functional gaps, communication rollout and change management processes of all MSC projects and initiatives.

  • Develops and directs Regional Management team within assigned region to maximize utilization of market potential and ensure the achievement of corporate goals.

  • Uses internal and external resources to analyze and assess region market potential, Sales, creating strategic plans, to maximize profits while minimizing expenses and achieving regional sales/profit goals.

  • Proactively identifies customer needs and drives team to selling appropriate solutions.

  • Develops and cultivates good customer relations via face to face contact. Responds to customers’ needs, consistent with MSC standards, culture, and business practices. Creates solutions to customers’ needs/problems.

  • Participates/encourages/drives quality assessment, profitability, and improvement activities.

  • Reviews sales reporting to ensure the availability of relevant data to maximize utilization of region on potential and meeting corporate sales goals.

  • Prepares the annual revenue and expense budgets and manages expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgetary constraints. Takes corrective action as needed.

  • Identifies and participates in the development and implementation of new value adds for the company.

  • Develops and tailors’ regional strategy in alignment with and to enhance MSC corporate marketing strategy.

  • Ensures all MSC market channels are fully utilized in the region.

  • Develops and Maintains vendor relations to enhance MSC goodwill/name recognition.

  • Acts responsibly as a senior manager level job in a public company.

  • Ensures region functions cross-functionally with other MSC departments and initiatives.

  • Manages the implementation of sales plans to increase market share within the region.

  • Drives interactive communication within the region to ensure proper information is disseminated correctly and feedback and mentoring is a continuous part of the communication within the region.

  • Develops and implements plans to attract, retain, and develop associates in sales and sales management throughout the region.

  • Drives the MSC culture in the regional and throughout the company to ensure unity of vision and fulfillment of MSC’s Mission

  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

  • Performs all duties inherent to the role of MSC Director as defined by the MSC Code of Conduct including hiring, terminations, review and performance.

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent and a minimum of nine years progressively more responsible outside sales experience including a minimum of five years’ progressive sales management experience.

    SKILLS:

  • Experience selling and managing sales in a business to business environment are required.

  • Excellent planning, budgeting, and forecasting P&L skills are required.

  • Strategic planning experience is required.

  • Excellent recruiting and hiring skills are required.

  • Excellent leadership skills required

  • Excellent change management skills required

  • Basic computer literacy is required.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills are also required.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel is required.

  • This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”)

    Compensation starting at $152950 - $240350 and up, depending on experience.

    The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
