As a Junior Project Accountant, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely entry and reporting of project data in the company's financial systems. You will be responsible for: accounts receivable, subcontract management, accounts payable and month-end. You will partner with management and project teams to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of data.

 

Job responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Produce accurate and timely billing and cost control reports for projects.

  • Reviewing actual cost vs budget, project improvement/deteriorations and selling rates to ensure data integrity on projects.

  • Review work in progress, debt and cash collections on projects and provide commentary to senior management.

  • Understanding the requirements of the contracts, gathering supporting documentation, checking the information for accuracy.

  • Working alongside project managers to produce other project accounting data when required.

  • Support subconsultant contract management - process invoices and purchase orders from our multiple subconsultants.

  • Complete project financial reconciliations.

  • Provide audit support where required.

  • Support project controls cost management functions as required.

  • Provide additional support with administrative duties as needed.

    Candidate Qualifications:

    specializes in innovative engineering solutions for various projects in multiple sectors. The ideal candidate for this position will have the following qualifications and skills:

     

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, finance or related field preferred.

  • Have at least 3 years of relevant experience

  • Financially literate, and numerically accurate with advanced knowledge of Excel, and vantage point.

  • Has an excellent aptitude to working with and supporting colleagues – team player with good time management skills.

  • Comfortable doing a full range of duties from data entry/processing through to reporting financial performance to management.

  • Able to communicate well on financial issues, verbally and in writing, to an audience with varying degrees of understanding in such matters.

  • Experience working in the AEC Industry preferred.
