The Opportunity

Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks an enthusiastic Summer Intern to join our Quality Department where you’ll join a team of over 40 field professionals who love what they do. In this role, the Quality Assurance Intern will ensure that the developed software meets requirements. They will also be supporting testing, and developing test plans, scripts, and automation.You will be part of a team passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion, committed to nurturing curiosity and new skills and building connections across the organization with stakeholders, colleagues, and guests.

The Role

• Understand requirements and create manual and/or automated test cases to validate them

• Execute test cases with minimal supervision

• Analyze and verify actual test results against expected test results

• Troubleshoot test and environment failures to get to the root cause

• Create and maintain test automation

• Write detailed technical defect reports that are clear and easy to understand

Qualifications:

Experience Required:

  • Familiarity with programming knowledge in Java or JavaScript, and SQL

  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree and/or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting/debugging, and problem-solving skills to resolve technical and business issues.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for a collaborative team environment and technical documentation

  • Skills or familiarity with development lifecycle, agile methodologies, deployment pipelines (Github or Azure DevOps), and webservice architecture

Experience Preferred:

  • Familiarity with different tools supporting test automation, such as Selenium, RESTassured, Postman, Appium, and XSD/JSON Schema validation.

  • Direct hands-on experience with ad hoc query programs, automated testing tools, and reporting software.
