As an airline, safety is our most important principle. And our Corporate Safety team is responsible for making sure safety is top of mind in every action we take. From conducting flight safety investigations and educating pilots on potential safety threats to implementing medical programs and helping prevent employee injuries, our team is instrumental in running a safe and successful airline for our customers and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Complete FOQA administrative tasks including but not limited to: quarterly FOQA hot items, avionics engineering support and troubleshooting for data reporting, analyze and resolve download failures, represent FOQA at assigned meetings such as data analysis groups, complete FOQA Quarterly Enhancement Report, etc. Coordinate with various collaborators as needed to support the FOQA/MOQA program. Open to innovative ideas and advanced analytics to elevate FOQA program.

FOQA Responsibilities:

  • Establish statistical criteria in conjunction with industry standards to complete in-depth risk assessment of events and safety issues. Develop aviation operational profiles and studies to assess performance of standard operating procedures (SOP). Research, create and develop new event detection and trending capabilities to better communicate risk

  • Liaison with FOQA vendor and other air carriers conducting FOQA programs and assist the vendor and other staff specialists in development of FOQA data analysis software tools and procedures to select pertinent aviation data and organize elements into meaningful reports to support aviation safety analysis for Flight Safety Investigations, Safety Action Programs, ASIAS, flight training and special studies/requests. Assists with subject matter expertise for ASIAS

  • Coordinate the use of FOQA data with the ALPA Exceedance Guidance Team (EGT)/Gatekeeper representatives to direct their supporting role in FOQA, validate events for crew contacts and collaborate with ALPA gatekeepers

  • Maintain appropriate documentation of the approved policies and procedures used in the FOQA program. Verify the operation and data quality of the entire FOQA system (ADI) and all FOQA equipped aircraft on a 24-7 basis

MOQA Responsibilities:

  • Support AHM and TechOps analytics team in creating and refining threshold-based event definitions with the use of flight data to be dispositioned for alerting

  • FOQA representative on Aircraft Predictive Analytics Committee (APAC) for determining actionable data-driven solutions for improving component reliability

  • Exploring methodologies for collaborative predictive maintenance solutions within the scope of existing governance

  • Work with TechOps partners to track program wins and cost savings

Role will require 5% travel for industry conference attendance

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience

  • Undergraduate degree in technical, safety, or aviation related discipline or equivalent level of work experience

  • 3 years’ experience in aviation industry

  • Aircraft performance, operational and programming knowledge, Microsoft Office, database programs

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master's degree in Aviation Related Field, Engineering, Data Analytics, or Data Science

  • Previous FOQA experience

  • FAA ATP, A&P, Flight Instructor

  • Familiar with GE Event Measurement System

  • 1+ years of experience with building reports/dashboards using BI tools (i.e., Tibco Spotfire, Tableau, PowerBI)
