Fox Rothschild LLP E-Discovery Technology Analyst in Chicago, Illinois

Description

As a member of the Information Services Department, the E-Discovery Technology Analyst handles all aspects of data processing, data management, and quality control using the Firm’s in-house and managed services E-Discovery technology tools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Adherence to department workflows, documentation and QC/QA procedures.

  • Monitor Operations ticketing system via the dashboard, pick up available tickets and coordinate with E-Discovery Operations Administrator, Senior Analyst, and other team members to prioritize as needed.

  • Manage the logging and storage of physical media to maintain the chain of custody, integrity, records retention procedures, best practices, and confidentiality of client data.

  • Perform transfer of inbound and outbound data sets on physical media from/to internal servers using approved Fox Rothschild transfer methods and procedures.

  • Assist in the creation, encryption, shipping, and quality control of physical media to and from Fox Rothschild to ensure client deadlines are met.

  • Assist with various archiving and data disposal projects.

  • Manage the media lab and associated data storage systems in accordance with Fox Rothschild procedures including the physical media supply inventory.

  • Identify and troubleshoot issues encountered while working with data and escalate to team members or management.

  • Process data utilizing industry standard E-Discovery software into various formats.

  • Upload processed data sets to Relativity review workspace or provide in requested format.

  • Relativity workspace administration including but not limited to: Creating new workspaces, building and updating search indexes, creating new users, setting/adjusting user permissions and workspace templates.

  • Understand the necessary internal workflow requirements for each service offering, so project specifications match client requirements/needs.

  • Coordinate and/or perform web site collections including social media, audio and video using firm approved capture software and/or 3rd party vendors.

  • Assist with support and maintenance of firms’ litigation case management tool.

  • Coordinate with Operations colleagues and/or Project Managers to help develop procedures and workflows that improve the overall level of service for our clients.

  • Provide detailed and proactive updates to Project Manager(s) and other team members throughout life cycle of work requests.

  • Observe all standard E-Discovery Technology conventions and best practices.

  • Gain/maintain knowledge of legal industry and legal technology by working with Project Managers, attending vendor product briefings/training sessions, reviewing professional publications and by attending industry sponsored events/webinars.

QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of technical experience and/or training.

  • Experience working with ReadySuite strongly preferred.

  • Experience working with Relativity Processing strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Must be dependable & personable with great customer service skills.

  • Candidate should have excellent communication skills, ability to work in a team environment, and be independently motivated while maintaining a strong commitment to communication.

  • Strong initiative required with ability to work independently with minimal supervision and self-motivated.

  • Demonstrate skills and capabilities in analytical, critical thinking and complex problem solving.

  • Ability to show judgment and initiative to accomplish job duties.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects with similar deadlines.

  • Ability to master all data processing systems, techniques, and workflows.

  • Must maintain strong attention to detail and quality control.

  • Flexibility of schedule with occasional off-hour availability as required.

  • Provide support to project managers, ability to maintain schedules and utilize good time management.

  • Knowledge/awareness of processing software, document review platforms, load file creation and data conversion, handling and manipulation, repository administration applications, various data transfer and manipulation tools, and Microsoft Office is preferred, but not required.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all matters and work under strict time constraints for multiple deadlines.

  • Familiarity with managed services or online hosting environments is desirable.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.

VISUAL ACUITY

Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
