Job Summary

The Director of Field Education oversees the operations and management of the Crown Family School of Social Work field education program in accordance with mandated accreditation standards for all master\'s level full-time, part-time, advanced standing, international, and dual degree students. The Director is a member of the school\'s administration and reports to the Deputy Dean for Curriculum. The Director supports professional development for all direct reports in the field office. The Director is responsible for providing students with field work opportunities for skills development in micro, mezzo, and macro practice. The Director is responsible for supporting the field education curriculum and the implementation of policies to educate students in all areas of practicum through strategic planning with faculty, staff and community of agency and organizational partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Manages education outreach program operations and administrative functions, including planning, program evaluation, policy implementation, personnel administration, budget, and marketing.
  • Designs and works with field staff to implement education outreach programs and communityrelations strategies.
  • Coordinates with national, state, and local organizations to establish partnerships.
  • Manages professional employees and Is accountable for the team\'s performance and results.
  • Adapts field office plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Established policies and procedures guide decisions.
  • Provides technical guidance to field staff and faculty colleagues.
  • The job manages a team of professional staff responsible for developing and implementing education outreach programs and community relations strategies.
  • Provides leadership and supervision to field staff.
  • Manages employees by establishing annual performance goals, allocating resources, assessing annual performance, and recommending individual merit, incentive and/or promotional increases.
  • Forecasts trends in field practica and determines programmatic response.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the field education program as required by the accrediting body; develop and administer data collection and conduct analysis and reporting of student learning outcome assessment protocols and tools; andmake recommendations for field curriculum changes and policies based on assessment results.
  • CSWE Reaccreditation Review, including collaboration to write and submit self-study, coordinate site visit, and draft field response to site visit report.
  • Develop field curriculum and field policies per CSWE standards.
  • Provide orientation and train students on field placement processes and field readiness.
  • Provide ongoing training and mentorship for community field supervisors and host institutions to support student intern programs and personnel.
  • Creates field seminar syllabi and curriculum.
  • Hire and field consultants on a contractual basis.
  • Hire work-study students.
  • Partners with the Dean of Students, Director of the Master\'s Program, and Faculty for problem-solving student concerns and issues.
  • Participates in assigned committees and workgroups.
  • Participates in the Illinois Field Education Director\'s Consortium.
  • Manages education outreach program operations and administrative functions to include planning, program evaluation, policy implementation, personnel administration, budget, marketing, fundraising and proposal development.
  • Maintains partnerships with national, state, and local organizations.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
