What you'll be doing

The Consultant, Business Effectiveness is responsible for contributing to various aspects of CIBC’s business administration functions for Private, Personal, and Digital Banking (PP&D), including implementation of strategies to support the functional business lines consisting of Private Banking, Consumer Lending, Personal Banking, Digital Banking, and Community Development. The primary role is to assist in the management of business line risk by observing administrative banking standards, policies, and procedures. The Consultant, Business Effectiveness will collaborate with the front line team members to guide and assist stakeholders in observing procedures related to third party management, initiative requests, business continuity, operational resilience, technology access, data management, and administrative business management risks.

How you'll succeed

The Consultant, Business Effectiveness will be accountable for risk mitigation associated with the various business management responsibilities including:

  • Vendor Third-Party Management- PP&D observance of TPGO policy, procedures, and standards

  • Business Managed Technology (BMT)

  • PP&D project request, prioritization, management, and implementation

  • CIRA - coordination of activities associated with CIRA applicability screening, and CIRA process workflow.

  • Business Continuity (BC) – Lead Business Continuity activities for PP&D functional business groups

  • Operational Resilience – Assist business units to build and document resilience into our capability to service our clients through disruptions.

  • Technology Access - Manage and coordinate activities associated with system access and attestations

  • Data Management & Records Management - Coordinate and support activities with PP&D Data Owners, Stewards, Custodians, and assist SRO with observance of the Enterprise and US record management standards

Who you are

  • College degree or equivalent business management experience

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role

  • Understanding and Documenting Requirements - Work closely with business partners to gather complex business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements.

  • Highly organized

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills sufficient to convey or present factual and conceptual information on issues which require detailed explanation and interpretation

  • Driven, influential leader, mentor, and strong team player

  • Client focused to go above and beyond to find the right solutions
