Capstone's Financial Sponsor Coverage team is focused on developing and institutionalizing relationships with private equity firms. As institutional ownership in the middle market grows inexorably, so does our focus on banking the private equity community.

The team plays a crucial role in sourcing and operations at the firm. The Financial Sponsor Coverage Manager will work with senior team members to provide analytics and coverage support. They will be primarily responsible for tracking, maintaining, and analyzing all data related to capital providers.

Job Responsibilities

This job has three important dimensions: (1) intelligence gathering & market organization, (2) providing service to investment banking execution teams and (3) origination.

Intelligence Gathering & Market Organization

  • Gather feedback on institutional investment preferences making use of DealCloud CRM, Pitchbook and other data tools

  • Update existing relationships as new investment theses emerge

  • Identify new capital providers, reach out directly and build new relationships

  • Lead by example and advocate internally for intelligence gathering, data tracking and CRM power usage

  • Support the team by scheduling meetings and other marketing initiatives

Pitch and Execution Support

  • Support pitch teams by supplementing financial buyer lists on sell-side pitches

  • Advise deal teams on marketing by suggesting capital sources for upcoming transaction launches

  • Analyze and track buyer behavior in processes to help the firm predict buyer behavior

Origination

  • Leverage Capstone sell-side deal flow to maintain relationships with top PEGs and gather proprietary information on portfolio company activity

  • Identify actionable targets that overlap with Capstone areas of coverage strength

  • Create pitch opportunities across Capstone and Huntington's diverse product offerings

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of investment banking, private equity, corporate finance or other M&A experience

  • Understanding of key M&A deal dynamics, transaction process and language

  • High degree of maturity, integrity, demonstrated leadership skills and work ethic

  • Strong attention to detail and work product quality

  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a leading undergraduate institution

  • Must be willing to travel

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States – E-Verify Employer

Compensation Range:

$80,000-$90,000

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.  Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.  In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
