As a Business Analyst of Operations II at Uber Freight, you will identify trends and defects, make decisions, take quick action, and measure impact with a high degree of confidence in our data as well as seamless access to it. Achieving this goal will allow Uber Freight to unlock substantial value across the entire business. Youll work closely alongside our existing community of analysts and cross functional partners (incl data scientists, engineers, and product managers) to map our data and analytics environment, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver on those opportunities. Youll also work closely with our community of users (including front-line operators, managers and leaders, and even customers) to understand their use cases and then build solutions in Tableau, Google Data Studio, Python, or proprietary Uber tools to satisfy those use cases. Youll spend time going deep operationally & analytically to uncover new findings that inform our strategy while building for the future by executing project-based work to build policies, processes, and systems that guide us to the right decisions at scale. This position will work closely with everyone from our front-line operations teams to our tech teams to our senior leadership in order to optimize and improve the systems and processes that power on-trip load visibility at Uber Freight.

What the Candidate Will Do

• Project Management - identify, plan, and lead execution of projects with a cross-functional team
• Develop & Optimize Processes - take big picture ideas and projects and break them into impactful steps with clear timelines for completion. Build streamlined solutions to drive impactful operational results.
• Problem Solving - perform root cause analyses to improve our existing automated tracking system and associated processes
• Analytics - create and execute various analytical projects to inform team strategy and internal stakeholders; including the development of reports, dashboards, and scripts/automations using Google Suite, SQL, Tableau, R, or Python
• Stakeholder Management - organize and structure work across a variety of cross-functional teams to deliver on shared goals and priorities
• Product Improvement - work with product teams to translate insights from operations teams to address product bugs or develop business cases for new features
• Operations Management - collaborate with the broader Visibility/Tracking team, Carrier Support, Carrier Sales, Account Management, etc. to identify process inefficiencies, build solutions, and drive operational efficiency (e.g. centralize repeatable processes, optimize outreach to carriers, enable automation, create weekly performance reporting)
• Take ownership of Uber Freight\'s growth and go above and beyond to get the job done

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors and/or Masters degree
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a strategic, analytical, project focused role
• At least 2+ years of working professionally with SQL

Preferred Qualifications

• High technical proficiency in Python
• High technical proficiency in common analytics and reporting tools (Tableau, Google Data Studio, Google Sheets / Excel, Mixpanel, Looker)
• Must be located in Chicago
• Domain-specific knowledge in the logistics (or related) industry, including customer service or tracking visibility
• Experience problem solving and proposing unique solutions to complex issues while providing top tier customer support
• Experience in a data-driven role
• Experience developing and executing on project proposals (end-to-end)
• Excellent written and verbal communicati n skills
• Extreme attention to detail
• Outstanding work ethic and sense of urgency
• Commitment to continuously improving (self and business)
