Legal Associate General Counsel, Life Sciences Job ID: 90533 Who You'll Work With You'll work in our Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington, D.C., New Jersey or New York office as part of our Legal Department. The Legal Department is a diverse and dynamic team within our firm, with over 280 legal professionals across 43 countries globally. The Legal Department provides comprehensive legal services to our firm's leadership, consultants and support staff throughout the world. You will report to the Managing Counsel of the Dedicated Practice Counsel team. In addition to interacting with our client serving professionals supporting the Life Sciences Practice, you will work closely with other Legal teams, as well as colleagues in our Risk, Compliance and other functions within McKinsey. What You'll Do McKinsey's Life Sciences Practice serves leading global institutions in the pharmaceuticals, medical technology and ancillary industries on the most critical challenges they are facing. This AGC role primarily involves advising and supporting McKinsey's consultants serving Life Sciences clients in North America. This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including: Providing solution-oriented legal advice to McKinsey Life Sciences business teams, including advising on healthcare regulatory risks, as well as other legal, professional and reputational risks, associated with Life Sciences projects Reviewing and advising on deliverables provided by McKinsey to our Life Sciences clients and developing internal policies, guidelines, and best practices related to Life Sciences projects Reviewing, advising on and negotiating statements of work and a variety of other agreements with Life Sciences clients, including consulting agreements, license agreements, collaboration agreements Serving as thought partner to legal department leaders and counselor to Life Sciences practice leaders, including providing guidance on important legal developments that could impact our Life Sciences work Developing and sharing expertise with others, including disseminating best practices to legal colleagues globally Establishing relationships with and supervising outside legal advisors as needed Providing support on other department, firm and practice initiatives and priorities as needed You will have the opportunity to work with colleagues on projects supporting broader McKinsey and Legal Department specific initiatives, such as contributing to knowledge sharing by developing reference materials, trainings, and playbooks.
