THE ROLE:

The Associate Director of Sales and Events is a senior-level hotel event sales role that reports directly to the Director of Sales, Events, and Marketing. As the Associate Director of Sales and Events , you will be responsible for overseeing the events team, elevating our events and driving revenue while managing the sales process for our exquisite event spaces, catering to a diverse range of clientele from weddings and corporate events to social gatherings and conferences. This role is ideal for someone aspiring to develop into an even more senior leader, with tremendous potential for growth opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Include, but not limited to):

1. Sales Management:

  • Understand the overall event market, including competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc.

  • Develop and implement strategies to attract clients and secure bookings for events such as weddings, conferences, meetings, and banquets.

  • Handle all event sales opportunities, including lead generation, contracting, planning, and production.

  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to maximize revenue while meeting the needs of both parties.

  • Act as the main point of contact/on-site contact for all event sales business.

  • Upsell each business opportunity to maximize revenue potential.

2. Client Relationship Management:

  • Gain understanding of the location’s primary target clients and their service expectations.

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing personalized service to ensure satisfaction.

  • Provide hotel tours both in person and virtually using the latest technology and creative visuals.

  • Implement strategies for proactive client engagement, including regular check-ins, surveys, and feedback sessions to continuously improve service delivery and exceed client expectations.

3. Event Planning:

  • Collaborate with clients to plan and execute events, coordinating details such as room setup, catering, audiovisual equipment, and other logistics.

  • Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with property departments and customers.

  • Lead internal communication with all necessary departments and colleagues for upcoming events to ensure flawless execution.

4. Marketing & Brand Representation:

  • Develop relationships within the community to strengthen and expand the customer base for sales opportunities.

  • Develop marketing strategies to promote the hotel's event spaces and services, which may include advertising, social media campaigns, and participating in industry events.

  • Build a network of industry contacts, attend events and trade shows, and actively seek out opportunities to promote the hotel's event services.

  • Act as a Park Hyatt brand ambassador in all connections and communication.

5. Performance Management:

  • Develop budgets and revenue forecasts for the event department, tracking performance against targets, and implementing corrective actions as needed.

  • Meet and exceed all individual & team goals tied to the overall objectives of the hotel.

  • Lead a team of event sales professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure sales targets are met.

  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Director of Sales, Marketing & Events.

SALARY RANGE:

The salary range for this position is $88,800 - $137,700. Actual pay will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, related field or CMP Certification.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in event sales within the hospitality industry, with a proven track record of success in driving revenue and achieving sales targets.

  • Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to effectively close deals and maximize profitability.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to deliver exceptional results.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients and colleagues.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software.

  • Flexible schedule, some nights, weekends, and Holidays are required.
