Job Description

The Production Assembly Technician fabricates Barrier Filters and Aero structures for commercial and military rotorcraft that protect engines from unscheduled maintenance and or replacement. The Assembly Technicians are responsible for efficiently performing all tasks while keeping accurate records and following all procedures and policies, focusing on first pass yields. The selected candidate will have technical and mechanical skills to conduct close tolerance hole drilling, countersinking, fastener installation, rivet installation, trimming, assembly, and will use micrometers, rulers, and calipers to conduct in-process self-inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Build Engine Inlet Air Filtration Systems for rotorcraft.

  • Maintain an acceptable level of attendance as measured by the Attendance Policy.

  • Install and remove universal and flush head rivets, hi-loks, cherry-max fasteners, hi-shear fasteners, and platenuts.

  • Work with and around a variety of chemicals and follow all standards regarding PPE.

  • Interpret Engineering drawings and other documents to ensure proper build completion.

  • Effectively document job completion paperwork.

  • Use protective equipment as required.

  • Build sheetmetal sub-assemblies to specifications for CH-53K, the person, and UH-60's, plus some low volume parts.

  • Select and use own tools, including hand tools and power tools like a pneumatic squeeze and a battery-operated drill.

  • Use a rivet gun if experienced, or get accustomed to the job before using the rivet gun.

Essential Skills

  • Technical and mechanical skills.

  • Ability to conduct close tolerance hole drilling, countersinking, fastener installation, rivet installation, and trimming.

  • Proficiency in using micrometers, rulers, and calipers for self-inspections.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Entry level to 3 years of experience.

  • Ability to interpret Engineering drawings.

  • Ability to select and use own tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Recent Military separation is advantageous.

  • Graduates from technical schools are welcome.

Work Environment

Candidates must be open to working Monday to Friday, with a 4-day, 10-hour shift either Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday. Voluntary and some mandatory overtime will be required in the coming months, possibly leading to 50+ hours per week. The work environment is climate controlled, low volume assembly in a small shop where it's easy to stand out, whether positively or negatively. The job is mostly a sit-down position at a bench.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesterfield, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
