Global Category Manager
A client of ours is looking for a Global Category Manager for a contract role. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in category management and procurement across multiple markets, focusing on optimizing supplier relationships, driving cost savings, and implementing best practices across the organization.
Responsibilities of Global Category Manager
Develop and implement category strategies on a global scale, aligning with business goals and procurement strategies to deliver value and cost savings.
Manage supplier relationships by fostering long-term partnerships, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and performance standards.
Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to understand industry trends, identify new opportunities, and maintain competitive advantages in supply chain management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and R& D, to understand business needs and ensure alignment with category management strategies.
Lead and support global procurement initiatives, driving operational efficiencies and streamlining processes.
Analyze spending patterns and procurement data to identify areas of improvement, optimize procurement costs, and mitigate risks.
Implement and enforce compliance with procurement policies, ensuring adherence to ethical standards and sustainable sourcing practices.
Forecast and budget category spend, providing financial insight and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Requirements
Skills/Qualifications of Cost Accounting Manager
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
5+ years of experience in global category management or procurement, preferably in a multinational organization.
Strong analytical and negotiation skills, focusing on driving cost efficiencies and value creation.
Proven ability to manage complex supply chains and global supplier networks.
Proficient in procurement software and data analysis tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Power BI).
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
Strong understanding of market trends, risk management, and compliance standards related to category management.
