Dollar Tree Project Manager III in Chesapeake, Virginia

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a background in managing IT driven projects that enhance business processes, improve customer experience and support retail operations. This role requires a mix of technical knowledge, project management experience, exception leadership skills and an understanding of Agile methodologies and an understanding of retail industry in more or more areas of e-commerce, supply chain management, and in store technologies. This individual will be responsible for the oversight, planning, execution, and completion of IT projects utilizing Jira and Agile methodologies. You must be an effective communicator and comfortable managing large cross functional teams.

The candidate should have a consistent track record of working on complex and cross-functional projects from inception to completion. You understand the agile development process, and respect teams' ability to self-organize. Day-to-day, you will:

  • Project Planning and Management - Lead the end-to-end management of IT projects from initiation to completion

  • Define Project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with Stakeholders

  • Develop and manage detail project/ program plans, schedules, budgets and resource allocation

  • Collaborate with business leaders IT teams, Vendors and external consultants to define project requirements and ensure alignment with business goals

  • Facilitate regular project meetings and provide updates to key stakeholders, ensuring transparency in project status, risks and challenges

  • Identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans as necessary

  • Proactively address potential roadblocks to ensure timely project delivery

  • Lead cross -functional project teams including developers, business analysts, and external contractors

  • Project administration and the timely production of project documentation, e.g. project plans, reports, metrics etc.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or master’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Information Technology Engineering, or equivalent work experience

  • Professional Certificates: Certified Scrum Master, SAFe Scaled Agilist (SA)

  • Strong Experience in agile delivery mode

  • 8+ years of experience as a Project / Program Manager and leading scrum teams

  • Experienced using Jira

  • Ability to multi-task, organize & lead a group of architects, engineers, analysts while attending to all details

  • Must be hands-on, with "roll up your sleeves" attitude to drive program success.

  • Organized verbal and written business communication that effectively achieves business objectives

  • Ability to drive continuous improvements and operational excellence

  • Collaborative and open style with a constructive and positive attitude

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

  • Ability to analyze and think quickly and to resolve conflict

  • Ability to work with and lead a team
