Dollar Tree HR Generalist in Chesapeake, Virginia

The Human Resources Generalist is a new role on the Corporate Human Resources team supporting the Human Resources Business Partner’s (HRBPs) with day-to-day administration. This key role offers variety and an opportunity to learn and enhance your Human Resources career.

Responsibilities

•Manage the administration of FMLA with associates, leaders, and leave administrator/vendor.

•Partner with Center of Excellence and Legal on ADA Accommodation review

•Support and coordinate payroll administration associated with the leave process and associate inquiries regarding payroll related issues.

•Provide HR coaching and guidance to associates and supervisors regarding resources, policy and procedure.

•Responds to associate inquiries regarding Human Resources policies.

•Handles employment eligibility inquiries for internal recruitment.

•Conduct exit and stay interviews.

•Participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, or investigations to support company process.

•Supports the investigative process through system administration.

•Runs reporting queries for HRBPs and assists in evaluation of data to support established goals.

•Completes separation notices and supports company termination process as needed.

•Works with HRBPs on org chart maintenance.

•Inputs internal notices for supervisory changes.

•Supports the performance review and succession planning process.

•Troubleshoots and supports the team as needed with associate related issues

•Maintains a high level of confidentiality when researching and resolving employee and management concerns.

•Other job-related duties as assigned

Position Requirements

•Office work environment, 40+ work hours per week

Minimum Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university.

•2 years HR experience preferably in a retail environment.

•SPHR/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SHRM-CP Certification is preferred.

•Customer service oriented with excellent written and verbal communication, go-getter, willing to support and change directions quickly to support the business.

•Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills.

•Must have a high level of proficiency with the use of all Microsoft Office applications and Windows-based programs, familiarity with Lawson and Compass a plus.
