Asset Protection Analyst – Product Protection

General Summary:

The AP Product Protection Analyst is an Enterprise role supporting Shrink improvement through defensive merchandising and product protection initiatives for both Dollar Tree and Family Dollar banners. The analyst is expected to coordinate with internal AP leaders, outside vendors, and merchandising partners to design, test, manage project rollouts and timelines, and implement solutions to help reduce shrink. The analyst will work with large data sets to isolate trends and business opportunities to build solutions and recommendations to drive performance improvement.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis using data collected & combined from multiple data sources to provide actionable recommendations for product protection & defensive merchandising opportunities.

  • Responsible for developing and delivering effective presentations and reporting solutions for AP, operational & merchant leaders.

  • Generate regular status reports for stakeholders and Management.

  • Responsible for identifying opportunities and coordinating projects across Asset Protection teams, vendors, and merchants.

  • Deliver reporting for weekly & monthly basis covering on-going performance.

  • Support ad hoc data and analysis requests from leadership teams in Ops/AP/merchandising departments.

  • Regularly coordinate with field AP team to review exceptions, set up new and follow up on existing tests.

  • Support allocation and distribution of EAS supplies to all stores.

Major Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Perform data gathering tasks and analytics.

  • Identify trends, develop solutions, project planning and data analysis.

  • Produce weekly/monthly project updates including major task/milestone reporting as well as financial updates.

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation including plans, schedules, timelines, milestones, reports, and logs.

  • Organize and lead project meetings, including kick-offs, status updates, and reviews.

  • Collaborate with Operations Team on project specific store communications.

  • Deliver presentations to teams and executive leaders and sponsors.

  • Synthesize findings and make recommendations to upper management.

  • Seek continuous improvement in all project implementations & reporting to fine tune action items.

  • Routinely work with the Merchandise Shrink Initiatives Team to align on initiatives, key changes, and provide value add input.

  • Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, MBA preferred and 3-5 years’ experience in analytical role.

  • Strong project management and technical skills (PMP,Excel & PowerPoint)

  • Experience leveraging business intelligence/query tools (SQL, Microstrategy, Business Objects, APT)

  • Strong analytical problem solving, and leadership skills.
