Description

This role would provide support to our new product introduction teams and engineers in Motor Graders.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Inspect new products and features in the field and report VOC/VOD to the NPI Platform and Technical Leader according to the PPRD process and utilize CAT Inspect

  • Report processes needed beyond VOC/VOD-PPRD to the current Product Platform Owner, CPI Owner, and Lifecycle Manager

  • Support on-site tracking of rework sales

  • Leverage unified fleet monitoring codes, hours, fuel consumption, and idle time.

  • Communicate clearly and concisely, and collaborate with the factory and engineering about product issues and successes

  • Travel to dealer and customer locations to assist with troubleshooting, failure analysis, and information gathering

  • Assess dealer capabilities and recommend improvements

  • Provide technical guidance on the product repair, rebuild and maintenance process

  • Assist dealers in technical exchanges with customers

  • Ability to train new field follow engineers

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or at least 4-5 years of equivalent work experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in construction machinery or product support.

  • Strong initiative and troubleshooting skills, able to evaluate and communicate problems found on test machines.

  • Candidates will also have:

  • Solid mechanical and analytical skills.

  • Good relationship building, collaboration and communication skills.

  • Domestic and international travel willingness.

  • Willingness to continue in engineering and/or other functional areas in graders after job assignment.

Top Candidates will also have

  • Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions. Translate customer needs to technical engineering requirements.

  • Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.

  • Service Excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours.

  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with customers, dealers, and peers.
