AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

AWS NGDE team is looking for talented System Development Engineers to design and develop optimal solutions to generate data at high quality and continuously enhance the quality for optimizing the large language models to improve the developer experience. Our Org’s mission is to use GenAI to help builders create faster, cheaper, more secure, and more reliable applications. We launched Services like Amazon CodeWhisperer and continuously working on adding new services to our portfolio, which solve common business problems and improves developer productivity through research and innovation. We build state-of-the-art services using the latest deep learning techniques and highly scalable distributed systems engineering.

System development engineers in our team will be responsible to dive deep into the model quality requirements and design/deliver optimal solutions in a massive scale to generate high quality data for model optimization. He/She will continuously innovate and enhance the solutions to generate data to optimize the ML models and expand the coverage. He/She will design UX tools for generating the manual data and build guardrails for ensuring high quality. He/She will be responsible to drive the technology roadmap for the team and skill up the team members.

Key job responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the System Development Engineer II are (not limited to):

  • Design, Develop & Deliver optimal solutions to generate data at high quality and continuously enhance the quality for optimizing the large language models.

  • Partner effectively with the Product, Science and Engineering teams to understand the product requirements and build extendable solutions at scale.

  • Innovate continuously to enhance the coverage and quality of data.

  • Mentor new engineers and skill up the team in terms of technology and process.

Basic Qualifications

  • B.E. in Computer Science or equivalent qualification.

  • 5+ years of experience in system development and automation. (Using C++/Java/Python)

  • Good understanding on data structures and annotations

  • Good Understanding on the system architecture and development life cycles

  • Demonstrated skill and passion for problem solving and operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in large scale software development environment

  • Experience in taking a project from scoping requirements through launch of the project

  • Experience in writing test assertions

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
