The opportunity

Manulife regional office is seeking a self-motivated Lead Platform Architect who is obsessed with delivering value, is forward-thinking, and excited to make an impact.

Responsibilities

  • Identify cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet the needs of the company

  • Lead our organization through cloud adoption and establish best practices

  • Investigates new platform solutions to enhance service delivery experience

  • Resolves persistent platform issues when surfaced by technical support teams

  • Work closely with IT security to deliver secured solutions

  • Has positive impact to specific organizational entities & understanding of the nature of the impact

  • Usually a top contributor to team's success

The position of Lead Platform Architect will focus on cloud and platform architecture works from initiatives of Asia segment.

What we are looking for

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field with solid experience in the area of cloud and platform architecture

  • Understanding of how technology supports business strategy

  • Attends advanced training sessions and is certified on multiple domains of expertise

  • Demonstrates all core skills, and good interpersonal skills for the role

  • Use and combine knowledge of the discipline and the market to formulate the right approach

  • Participates in functional demos utilizing new tech; designs own control structures

  • Understanding of distributed cloud platforms through configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management automation tools

  • Experiments with emerging technologies and understanding how they will impact what comes next

  • Experience with open source preferred

  • Collaborative attitude, willingness to work with team members; able to coach, participate in code reviews, share skills and methods

  • Constantly learns from both success and failure

  • Good organizational and problem-solving abilities that enable you to manage through creative abrasion

  • Good verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes
