Position: Test Technician

Location: Chelmsford

Pay rate: $45.63/hr.

Duration: 1-Year Contract

Our client is a leading aerospace company specializing in cutting-edge technology solutions for the aviation and aerospace industries. With a strong commitment to innovation, safety, and quality, they are at the forefront of aerospace advancements. Our client is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Production Assistant to join their dynamic team.

What will you do?

• Perform test, tune, and troubleshoot mid-range to highly complex military RF microwave hybrid assemblies.

• Test units over temperature, during vibration and mechanical shock.

• Place units into burn-in ovens and monitor performance.

• Utilize state-of-the-art standard, specialized, manual, and automated test equipment.

• Test to specifications outlined in module performance specifications and acceptance test procedures.

• Use computers to retrieve test procedures, assembly drawings, schematics, and input test yield data.

• Perform electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks to support production units.

• Use standard electronic assembly tools and materials.

• Perform modifications, rework, and quality testing as required.

• Collaborate with RF Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering.

• Develop procedures and troubleshoot products to specifications.

Required Qualifications:

• Previous experience in the test, tune, and troubleshoot of RF Microwave Hybrid assemblies

• Familiarity with RF equipment: RF Signal Generator, Spectrum Analyzers/Low Noise Analysis, Signal Analyzer, Oscilloscope, RF Power Meters, PNA Network Analyzers.

• Ability to work under a microscope as required to test, tune and troubleshoot RF microwave hybrid assemblies and utilize hand tools such as torque drivers, tweezers and other similar tools; Good dexterity, eye/hand coordination

• Ability to read and work from detailed process sheets and drawings; Good computer skills are required to support retrieval of drawings and work instructions as well as other job activities;

• Experience operating computer driven mechanical vibration equipment

• Experience soldering components in accordance with J-STD-001 to support the tuning process

• Experience with data analysis of RF Microwave test data

• Experience in writing test procedures and troubleshooting from schematics

• Familiarity working in an ESD and FOD controlled environment
