Job Description

Overview of Role:

This is a crucial role within the Teledyne e2v RF Power Division. You will be an integral part of the quality control team ensuring the quality of incoming material into the business.

This is a great opportunity to undertake hands on inspection work in a Manufacturing & Engineering environment. You will receive on the job training to use advanced inspection equipment such as CMM’s and OGP’s.

The ideal candidate will have some prior knowledge of inspection techniques in a manufacturing environment. However this is not essential as training will be provided for the right candidate.

Main Accountabilities

The successful candidate will be trained to complete the following day-to-day activities:

Operate & program inspection equipment such as CMM’s & OGP’s.

Understand and be competent using manual inspection equipment such as callipers & micrometres.

Able to understand and interpret technical drawings and 'statements of work', to create inspection plans.

Willingness to take ownership of commitments and work to a schedule to ensure parts are inspected in a timely manner and available for production.

Work closely with supplier quality engineers to resolve part issues. Be able to communicate non-conformances in a professional and succinct way.

Use basic IT tools and learn to use our SAP ERP system to record inspection results and find relevant information.

Follow company instructions and procedures at all times.

Maintain a clean and tidy working environment.

Essential Experience/Competencies:

  • Excellent dexterity and attention to detail.

  • • A strong understanding of basic maths and a willingness to learn more.

  • • Must be self-motivated and able to work within a team.

  • • Competent using MS Word, MS Excel.

Desired Experience/Competencies:

  • Experience in an Engineering or Manufacturing Environment.

  • • Ability to follow engineering drawings and technical instructions.

  • • Experience with SAP or similar ERP system.

  • • Experience of working within a team and able to work on your own.

  • • Previous experience of using inspection equipment.

Desired Qualification

A good level of literacy and numeracy, educated to GCSE level or equivalent
