JOB POSTING: Physical Therapist The Athens-Meigs Educational Service Center (AMESC) is seeking qualified applicants for a full time school-based Physical Therapist position to provide direct services and oversight of physical therapist assistants in various K-12 school settings. The Mission of the Athens-Meigs Educational Service Center is to work in partnership with the community to improve student achievement, build capacity, and raise expectations for all individuals in our service region. Valid Ohio Physical Therapy License. ? Record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment. ? Solid communication and organizational skills. ? Ability to collaborate with many individuals. ? Ability to use technology for inputting data, Medicaid billing, ETR and IEP writing, etc. ? Travel to various school sites - given mileage reimbursement. Position Duties May Include the Following Responsibilities ? Provides physical therapy services to school age students grades pre-k to 12 using a variety of service delivery models to treat and/or address gross motor deficits and/or school access barriers. ? Screens and evaluates students identified as having difficulty with school access secondary to gross motor concerns. ? Works with district special services teams to reach a consensus on a plan for identified students. ? Collaborates with teachers and parents; shares knowledge and resources that embrace student learning. ? Part of the district team to write Evaluation Team Reports (ETR) ? Helps prepare and implement Individualized Education Programs for identified students (IEP). ? Monitors and documents student progress. ? Provides oversight and guidance to physical therapist assistant(s).
