Responsibilities

Job Summary / Purpose

The Senior Planning Strategist is responsible for leading strategic data analysis, synthesis, and business case development in support of CHI Memorial’s clinical portfolio. Analytical work includes, but is not limited to, market and market share analyses, volume forecasting, strategic and tactical plan updates, geo-analyses, and business case writing, as well as provision of analyses that facilitate smart and sustainable business decisions. The Senior Planning Strategist works with cross-functional teams – including operations, finance, marketing, legal, performance excellence, payer strategies, physician relations and recruitment, medical leaders and community benefit/mission integration – to progress strategic growth projects and convenes decision-making processes. The position routinely presents and communicates analyses, summary recommendations and business case conclusions to senior leaders and others to support data-driven/fact-based decision-making for strategic growth. Will provide guidance to Project Manager, Strategic Planning.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Provide analysis of external and internal data sources and develop related presentations to support senior-level decision-making

  2. Lead mission-critical work products related to the Long Range Strategic Financial Plan, Operational Performance Review, Certificate of Need, Medical Staff Development Plan, Community Health Needs Assessment, as well as ad hoc growth plans

  3. Perform daily analysis and project management to support clinical service line and system market share assessments, market and demographic analyses, geo-analyses, economic analyses, physician demand and supply, volume forecasting for financial proformas, and business plan development

  4. Vet new delivery system models and assess system readiness

  5. Develop a feedback loop between Strategic Planning and internal clients to ensure

relevance of analytics offerings

  1. Participate in organization strategic planning sessions and foster trust with organizational

leadership and key stakeholders

  1. Confidently present analytical findings and key recommendations to small and large

group forums

  1. Train and guide the Project Manager, Strategic Planning

Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

Must have three to five years’ experience working in a healthcare setting with an understanding of general strategy, analytics, marketing and planning needs. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

Preferred experience with other database programs, with ability to become proficient with mapping software, market forecasting tools, and strategy tracking software. Preferred knowledge of basic clinical coding, healthcare reimbursement, and revenue cycle management.

Pay Range

$36.87 - $53.46 /hour
