Responsibilities

The RN Program Coordinator is responsible to Oncology Clinical Services Director for providing leadership for

designated services in the cancer program to improve outcomes through the development and maintenance of

patient care pathways, operational processes and quality metrics. The RN Coordinator will be responsible for

working in collaboration with the Medical Director of a Center of Excellence, for the Cancer Strategy and

Advisory Team, supporting physicians and other health care providers to develop, implement, and/or ensure

standards of care are followed. He/she implements plans and identifies resource requirements needed to

advance the program. Additionally, they continually strive to improve and refine existing services for efficient

and timely access and facilitate integrated patient care. He/she serves as a clinical expert/resource to patients,

families, staff, and referring physicians to educate and provide evidenced based information. Also, they

disseminate relevant research findings and identify opportunities for participation in the development of

research initiatives. The Coordinator participates in market outreach and community education/awareness

activities as requested including events in Cancer awareness month/s. The Coordinator also services as the

Nurse Navigator for their assigned patient population.

Qualifications

Required Education BSN or actively working on BSN

Required Licensure and Certifications

RN, OCN certified within 6 months if employee has current oncology

experience meeting ONCC practice guidelines for certification testing.

If no previous oncology experience, employee must take OCN exam

within 15 months of employment (if practice hours requirement met)

and must be certified within 18 months.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of national guidelines for cancer treatment, including

NCCN. Ability to plan and lead Center of Excellence meetings. Strong

organizational/relational skills needed.

PREFERRED Qualifications 3 Years of Oncology Nursing or related clinical background.

Knowledge of oncology clinical trials.

Pay Range

$29.02 - $42.08 /hour
