University of Virginia Health Information System (HIS) Analyst (2nd Shift) in Charlottesville, Virginia

Answer phones for continuation of care request, patient and legal request. Accept and process walk in request for release of information. My Chart access approvals including Proxy validations. Mail and route continuation of care communication documentation to patients and referring providers. Monitor inpatient discharges to ensure completion of documentation to meet MC and TJC regulatory requirements.

Enter deficiencies into chart tracking computer system. (HIM=Health Information Management)

  • Analyzes each patient health record.

  • Communicate with customers.

  • Performs area-specific support/technical activities.

  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $15.37 - $23.82 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Must successfully pass AHIMA approved Medical Terminology CBL course within 12 months of hire date.

Experience: No experience required

Licensure: None required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
