University of Virginia Director of Clinical Operations - Dialysis in Charlottesville, Virginia

Directs the day-to-day operations of Dialysis Clinics and provides consultation and assistance in communication with the entire range of the served patient population. Responsibilities include effective resource utilization and policy development, implementation, and evaluation. As a member of the Dialysis Program leadership team the individual demonstrates clinical expertise and will be involved in continuous quality improvement customer service resource and financial management efficient and effective system processes and professional development.

  • Provides leadership, management, and daily oversight to all dialysis facilities within the Dialysis Program. This oversight will ensure that patients receive safe, quality care in an efficient and patient-centric manner that is aligned with established procedures, workflows, protocols, and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide consultation and assistance in communication with the entire range of the served patient population.

  • Develops and supports Dialysis Program Nurse Managers in fulfilling departmental goals, objectives, and priorities consistent with those of the organization.

  • Develops programs which address continuous quality improvement system enhancement streamlined processes and overall nurse performance

  • Participate in leadership activities to support the strategic plan of the Medical Center

  • Provides oversight for areas of responsibility and guidance for the leaders of those areas regarding day-to-day clinical operations of dialysis clinics.

  • Ensure that the necessary operational resources such as clinic space, administrative space, equipment, and staff are in place to deliver safe, effective and efficient care for dialysis patients. Includes collaboration with the Administrator on the development and oversight of the budget.

  • Knowledge of related benchmarks, works with Nurse Management team to achieve them

  • Ensures compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements- Develops and manages partnerships with clinicians, physicians, and administrative counterparts to achieve common goals.

  • Manages recruitment performance and retention activities of assigned staff- Fosters an environment of continuous performance improvement professional development and life-long learning in nursing or other healthcare related fields.

  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $106,974.40 - $171,163.20 Annual

Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Masters in related field preferred and required within four years of hire. If a nurse Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program and Master's degree in a related field within 4 years of hire.

Experience: Five years of progressive leadership experience demonstrating sustainable clinical operational outcomes required. Ambulatory experience preferred; dialysis experience preferred.

Licensure: For registered nurse candidates Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
