Siemens Energy US Project Manager in Building Solutions in Charlotte, North Carolina

A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

We are seeking a self-driven, experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic Building Solutions team at Siemens Energy. The Building Solutions team plays a critical role in the design, construction, and extension of all major buildings within the company, overseeing projects that range from new construction to building expansions. This is a multi-year project role, offering the opportunity to work on long-term, high-impact initiatives that directly support the growth and operational efficiency of Siemens Energy.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

  • Lead the project team, including designers, architects, HSE, and site project managers, as well as subcontractors such as project management companies and general contractors.

  • Proactively lead all aspects of the entire project execution, ensuring adherence to timeline, cost, risk, safety, and quality standards.

  • Support pre-construction activities, including scope definition, project setup, design, permitting, tendering, and preparation for construction start.

  • Lead construction activities, including General Contractor contract and claim management, HSE compliance, and the successful handover to operations.

  • Lead communication with the landowner or lessor and local authorities for all permitting and construction-related matters.

  • Prepare and present regular project reports to ensure partners are advised of progress and any potential risks or delays.

What You Bring (requirements)

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, MEP Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of project management experience in construction projects, specifically in industrial facilities.

  • Certification: PM certified (e.g., PMP, IPMA, or equivalent).

  • Strong understanding of key CAPEX drivers in industrial facility design and construction, with experience in construction contract management (e.g., Fidic red/yellow book or equivalent).

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Project), with a solid understanding of AutoCAD.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, able to steer and empower project teams in diverse and complex environments.

  • Experience in manufacturing (energy sector preferred) and working in international, multicultural corporate environments.

  • Proficient in English (both written and verbal), with proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish) being a plus.

  • Strong ability to embrace challenges, find effective solutions, and meet project deadlines while maintaining quality and budget standards.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
