Position Purpose:

The Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for managing Corning’s global duty spend & cost reduction portfolio across the businesses. This role requires extensive knowledge of customs regulations, trade agreements, and international trade processes. This person will work closely with various departments, including finance, logistics, and legal, to identify, recover, or minimize duties paid on imported goods. The Trade Compliance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with customs regulations, optimizing duty savings, and supporting the organization's overall trade operations. The successful candidate will contribute to cost savings, improve cash flow, and enhance the organization's effectiveness in the global market.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or a related field

  • Extensive working experience in duty drawback or customs compliance roles

  • In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, duty recovery and avoidance processes, and international trade practices

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and submitting Protests, Post Summary Corrections and Drawback claims

  • Knowledge of trade agreements, such as USMCA, etc.

  • United States Customs Brokerage License

Responsibilities:

  • Continuously manage Corning’s global import and export profile to identify potential duty drawback, (or other Gov’t recovery) opportunities.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information and documentation, including invoices, shipment records, and customs documentation

  • Work with a 3rd Party to prepare duty drawback, Post Submission Corrections, or Protests claims accurately and in compliance with customs regulations and track status of claims and follow up with customs authorities to ensure timely processing

  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on duty recovery, reduction, bonded operations and requirements

  • Continuously review and assess duty recovery and avoidance processes to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes

  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and evolving regulations related to duty recovery and avoidance

The range for this position is $78,426.00 - $107,836.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
