About the Role:

Seasoned engineer with a wealth of experience and deep subject matter expertise in HVAC system design and qualification. The successful candidate will possess a proven track record of excellence in conducting comprehensive system architecture studies, creating product families, and formulating and executing rigorous testing strategies. Furthermore, the candidate should be effective in working with others and a solid mentor and coach to entry-level engineers.

The primary responsibility of the position is the engineering technology development for commercial water chilling systems and data center cooling. In this role the individual will be responsible that technologies are developed and integrated smoothly into the chiller and data center thermal solutions into the new product development process. In this capacity, the Staff engineer will be responsible for developing solutions that best meet the local/global market needs by integrating multiple technologies into winning thermal solutions. The candidate Staff engineer must have a strong understanding of the thermodynamics of the chiller system, thermal system modeling, tube in shell heat transfer, refrigerant system performance analysis, product control application and compression application.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop chiller system architecture solutions meets or exceeds the product development requirements.

  • Thermodynamic based modeling and optimization of chiller system design, fluid filtration and pumping

  • Leadership of engineering teams

  • Confirm product design performance, capability and reliability testing our engineering product test laboratories utilizing DOE methodologies.

  • Collaborate with the product marketing teams locally to develop product requirements and ensure that the product meets their needs when launched.

  • Follow all appropriate design, safety, and qualification standards in development programs

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years of systems engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced to expert knowledge obtained through advanced education, combined with experience

  • Substantial knowledge of Carrier organization, programs or systems to make enhancements within job area
