Honeywell Sr Subcontracts Specialist in Charlotte, North Carolina

As a Senior Subcontracts Specialist, Customer Change Control here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for providing principal support to the Project management team in the effective governance and administration of the prime contract between Honeywell and its customer. Develop and execute a program to identify and prepare contract supported change orders as they develop and direct the efforts to negotiate and resolve opportunities;

With the project team and legal, identify the contract baseline, including terms and conditions, specifications, drawings, estimate, proposal, schedule and other documents incorporated in the contract. You will ensure compliance with company business policies and procedures, Export/Import regulations.

You will report directly to our Strategic Sourcing Manager and you will work out of our Mason OH or Charlotte NC location on 3/2 hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the evaluation of bids and proposals, ensuring compliance with company policies and program requirements. Your expertise in subcontract management will be crucial in identifying and resolving subcontract issues and developing mutually acceptable solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Establish and manage the following:

  • Specific contract actions and obligations of Honeywell and the customer and the individual responsible for each action

  • Identifying the contractually required notices and the individual responsible for initiating each notice

  • Be responsible for the Customer Change Order Procedure and Customer identify changes, quantify the additional time and compensation due Honeywell, receive Intelligrated approvals and communicate changes to the Customer; Prepare change orders to the contract and, as directed, negotiate such change orders

  • Participate in project related meetings, work closely with Installation, Engineering, and Project Controls, and review project financial data to:

  • Ensure awareness of all project activities that may affect the prime contract; Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement, schedule relief and claim avoidance

  • Recommend appropriate actions to protect Honeywell’s interest and/or improve project performance

  • Ensure compliance with prime contract terms and conditions

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of ongoing training to address prime contract management principles.

YOU MUST HAVE

• 4+ years of experience in sales/sourcing/engineering/construction industry contracting practices

• Strong negotiation and contract management skills

• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously

• Familiarity with procurement software and tools

WE VALUE

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management or Cost Engineering or equivalent experience. MBA preferred.

  • Working and/or Leading in Site Team Environments

  • Project Management and/or Contract Management Experience

  • Professional Certifications in Project/Supply Chain/ Procurement/Contract Management

  • Team Leader experience in Supply Management/Sourcing/Procurement/Business

  • Demonstrated Business and financial acumen

  • Experience with Salesforce.com, SAP, Oracle, or site relevant ERP systems, E Sourcing Platforms, Request for Quotation Tools, Project Management Tools

  • Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Tools
