Reports To: VP, Field HR

Salary: 80,000-90,000/yr.

Job Summary

As a Senior HR Generalist supporting Compass Group, you will lead numerous Human Resource functions to meet strategic, tactical and administrative Human Resource objectives.

You must be able to communicate effectively with Senior Management and across various support departments. Your knowledge of employee relations, union agreements, and your strong analytical ability will be used to support HR initiatives.

This role requires the individual to sit onsite at our corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the gatekeeper of HR data collection and processing (PH: setting up roles, partnering with TA, onboarding of newly acquired associates etc.) for new business and acquisitions.

  • Develop new associate acquisition packets for onboarding new associates.

  • Conduct follow up sessions with newly acquired associates. The acquisitions are not just one single event. The HR team has to be onsite for a minimum of 3 days to enter new associates into PH and follow up as needed to troubleshoot payroll issues etc. for at least 30 days.

  • Assist with onsite job fairs.

  • Manage the onboarding programs for each division to ensure that associates receive the onboarding that they deserve and ensure retention beyond 12 months.

  • Collect information and assist with the biweekly updates for on diversity and inclusion (progress on engagement and participation, and completion of requirements).

  • Meets the need of the business to better develop future leaders and support retention (in person sessions, more content, recruiting/support cohorts).

  • Gatekeeper for I9 reporting and follow up process so that we can be more proactive versus reactive and manage ACA measurement processes.

  • Work on special projects.

  • Develop and manage the Canteen HR Scorecard/Dashboard.

  • Travel up to 30%.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • PHR or SPHR designation strongly preferred.

  • Five plus years human resources generalist experience and employee management experience required.

  • Hands on HR experience at a large, multi-unit organization required.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills; advanced skills preferred.

  • Content-knowledge regarding employment law, policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Experience in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.

  • Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.

  • Strong presentation skills required.
