Xylem SAP Specialist – Release Management and Quality Assurance in Charlotte, North Carolina

THE ROLE :

The SAP Specialist - Release and Quality Assurance will be tasked with overseeing the Release Management and Quality Assurance responsibilities. This pivotal role involves managing the entire release process and leading the quality assurance practices maintaining the highest standards of quality assurance through both manual and automated testing. Additionally, this role will spearhead initiatives to enhance release processes and quality assurance practices, utilizing insights from testing activities to boost overall effectiveness. This role will report directly to the Sr. Director of SAP Center of Excellence and Development.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Change Management:

  • Develop change management strategies aligned with the SAP Center of Excellence goals.

  • Monitor departmental change activities for dependencies and impacts on SAP COE support.

  • Identify stakeholders affected by change management activities.

  • Engage early in design discussions to gather business impacts.

  • Produce reports to quantify impacts and design solutions with stakeholders.

  • Implement Business Readiness Plans to mitigate impacts.

  • Create communication plans to inform stakeholders of changes.

  • Act as a change champion during implementation and post-live phases.

  • Enhance the change management framework for agile delivery and new working methods.

  • Integrate best practices into project workflows for standardization.

  • Conduct change risk assessments for the program.

Release Management:

  • Coordinate release activities and resolve issues with development, QA, operations, and stakeholders.

  • Define and maintain release management policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Develop release plans with milestones, communication strategies, and rollback procedures.

  • Coordinate releases of varying size, complexity, and duration with cross-functional teams.

  • Ensure change requests are managed with proper control processes.

  • Oversee the change approval process per enterprise guidelines.

  • Improve business availability through effective change implementation.

  • Coordinate release content and effort based on service request backlogs.

  • Conduct Release Readiness, Milestone, and Business Go/No-Go reviews.

  • Provide weekly release reports.

  • Lead and coordinate Go-Live activities, including deployment plans and checklists.

Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain high standards for software quality and empower team members to do the same.

  • Lead the QA processes, practice, and standards to ensure our applications meet organizational quality standards.

  • Develop and implement QA policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Oversee the design and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

  • Implement and manage automated testing tools and frameworks.

  • Conduct regular quality assessments and audits to ensure compliance with standards.

  • Utilize tools such as Tricentis Tosca to improve the testing coverage of our SAP Landscape.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously assess and improve change management, release, and QA processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Implement best practices and industry standards to enhance the functions of the role.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize software delivery and quality.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred, or a related field with at least 8 years experience or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.

• Proven experience (8+ years) in change management, release management, and quality assurance roles, with an SAP background.

• Prefer experience leading multiple SAP releases and landscapes with highly organized and highly coordinated.

• Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.

• Understanding of business process reengineering and requirements gathering techniques.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess business needs and translate them into technical requirements.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise between stakeholders and technical teams.

• Familiarity with project management principles and the ability to oversee projects from conception to implementation.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with cross functional teams.

• A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Salary range:

$105,000.00 - $189,000.00
