Robert Half Purchasing Coordinator Charlotte, North Carolina
Description We are seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to join our machinery manufacturing team located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The role will primarily involve processing and confirming purchase orders, maintaining vendor communication, and updating purchase order information in our system. This is a contract employment opportunity that offers the chance to work closely with our purchasing department.
Responsibilities:
• Verify and process incoming Purchase Order (PO) confirmations from vendors.
• Use ERP systems to match vendor confirmation details such as PO number, vendor, part number, quantity, and price.
• Update the status of POs in the system, marking them as confirmed.
• Maintain and update anticipated delivery dates in the PO lines.
• Handle incoming emails from vendors with updates to Purchase Orders.
• Input vendor-provided information into the system, including backorder reports with the most current estimated ship dates per part.
• Update the PO system to reflect new delivery dates.
• Use Excel formulas and Microsoft Excel for various purchasing functions.
• Handle vendor inquiries and maintain effective communication.
• Issue, prepare, and enter purchase orders as necessary. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly with the use of Excel Formulas
• Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning software
• Demonstrated ability to enter, issue, and prepare purchase orders efficiently
• Previous experience or exposure to a Purchasing Department environment
• Familiarity with standard Purchasing Functions and procedures
• Experience in processing and managing Vendor Invoices
• Ability to handle Vendor Inquiries professionally and effectively
• Knowledge of machinery manufacturing industry would be advantageous
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
