Project Manager | Data & Analytics

General Description
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and strategic Project Manager to support the SVP of Data & Analytics. This is a pivotal role where you will act as a trusted advisor to the SVP, ensuring seamless coordination of cross-functional initiatives, high-level project management, and alignment between various teams. You will help drive the success of key data and analytics projects, while supporting the overall strategy and goals of the Division.
Key Responsibilities
1.Strategic Support & Coordination:
• Act as a liaison between the SVP, Data & Analytics, and key internal stakeholders (business units, leadership, external partners).
• Assist in the development and execution of departmental goals, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives.
• Monitor and track progress of strategic initiatives, offering regular updates to the SVP and leadership teams.
2.Project Management:
• Supports and manage complex data and analytics-related projects across multiple departments, ensuring timely delivery, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement.
• Facilitate the successful implementation of analytics solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and align with industry standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, execute, and optimize processes for enhanced data-driven decision-making.
3.Operational Excellence:
• Implement and maintain efficient processes to drive the execution of key data & analytics strategies.
• Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, and communication materials to summarize project progress, key insights, and deliverables.
• Manage departmental budgets and financial reports that are used to report to upper management, the role requires exceptional attention to detail.
Help manage resources, and timelines, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to high-priority initiatives.
4.Team Collaboration & Leadership:
• Foster a collaborative and transparent environment by working closely with the internal Data & Analytics team members as well as the IT team.
• Act as a key point of contact for escalations and troubleshooting issues related to ongoing projects and operations.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members and project stakeholders.
Risk & Change Management:
• Anticipate potential risks and challenges in analytics projects, proactively suggesting solutions to maintain momentum.
• Drive change management efforts related to new data initiatives or shifts in organizational focus, ensuring smooth transitions across teams.
Continuous Improvement:
• Track and evaluate performance metrics related to data initiatives, proposing process improvements to increase productivity and project success rates.
• Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies within data analytics and financial services.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Data Science, Information Technology, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in project management, operations, or as a Chief of Staff, with at least 2 years in the financial services or data analytics sector.
• Skills:
• Strong project management skills, including proficiency with Project Management software (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Asana.
• Deep understanding of data and analytics operations and its impact on business strategy, especially in a financial services context.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to manage and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills with experience working across cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of data governance, regulatory compliance, and industry standards within the financial services industry is a plus.
Well versed in MS Office Suite, specifically in Excel, PowerPoint, reports visualization tools such as tableau and Power BI.
Base Salary & Benefits
Our base salary for this position located in North Carolina generally ranges between $120,000.00 and $145,000.00 annually, depending on business needs and on your qualifications, and experience. Base salary does not include incentive compensation, commissions, or any other type of remuneration or benefits.
In addition to salary, Popular's well-rounded benefits package for regular full-time and part-time employees includes a comprehensive health plan, flexible time off options, and savings and investment plans. Seasonal/temporary employees are not eligible for these benefits.
