Sharp Electronics Corporation Production Print Technician in Charlotte, North Carolina

Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Branch Field Service Manager, the Field Service Representative - Production Print (FSR-4P) manages a territory of Sharp production print systems (both color and monochrome) while delivering a high level of customer satisfaction through proper communications and maintenance of equipment.

This position will have a full working knowledge of the product portfolio (including theory of operation and mechanics) acting as a branch subject matter expert providing solutions to complex problems as well as delivering field and / or remote support to fellow Sharp Field Service Representatives. This role sometimes involves innovative problem solving using non-standard techniques, as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Services and maintains a full territory independently providing on-site support installations and service repair and scheduled maintenance of production print equipment.

  • Perform pre-installation assessment and site inspection of equipment as per Sharp equipment requirements.

  • Possess a full working knowledge of a product line including theory of operation and mechanics.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the production print portfolio, providing solutions to complex service issues, field, and/or remote troubleshooting support to FSRs.

  • Conduct technical training as needed for FSRs.

  • Develop strong working relationships with customers, actively taking part in support activities to achieve quick and effective problem resolution.

  • Assist with sales engagements and product demonstrations as needed.

  • Maintain close communication with the Branch Service Manager, Region Engineer, and the Technical Phone Support team to ensure correct resolution of service issues.

  • Monitor spare parts stocks providing guidance on how best to maintain parts inventory and usage.

  • Complete and submit service activity information and paperwork timely to the proper group/department.

  • Attend training classes as required to stay current on both new and existing products.

  • Partners with fellow workers and management to achieve Branch service goals.

  • After-hours availability as needed for installations, service calls and training.

  • Perform other duties as directed by the Branch Field Service Manager.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

  • 6 or more years of experience copier repair or repair and maintenance of electronic equipment.

  • 5 or more years of field service experience with toner-based production equipment.

  • Two-year electronics or mechanical engineering degree or equivalent in field experience.

  • Extensive knowledge in electronics and mechanical operation.

  • Computer skills with emphasis on operating systems and hardware, including digital front ends (Fiery).

  • Possess A+ and Net+ certifications.

  • Displays effective communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe applications.

  • Advanced level application of diagnostic, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Must successfully complete Sharp equipment pre-testing and training.

  • Requires a valid state driver's license.

Compensation for this position

The compensation range for this role is $40,350 - $70,800. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
