Canteen, a division of Compass Group North America, has a National Sales position available covering GPO customers. This professional top-performer will work under the supervision of the National Sales VP, while learning all the steps of the sales process with a focus on strategic prospecting that leads to the generation of new opportunities in the hospitality channel for all of our business lines at Canteen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exceed sales goals by closing new sales while establishing, developing, and maintaining long-term positive business and customer relationships.

  • Execute a deliberate outreach and sales strategy in the assigned channel, nationwide.

  • Uncover growth opportunities by canvassing prospective customers within assigned channel.

  • Solicit new business opportunities in designated channel by visiting accounts in person.

  • Visit with key decision makers; build and strengthen relationships.

  • Manage relationships with key vendor partners.

  • Manage and predict revenue through a CRM; fully understand the math of your sales activity and results and prospect business value.

  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments.

  • Think like a business owner, and influence the thinking of other business owners.

  • Manage existing customer base within assigned channel and generate growth from these accounts.

  • Manage budget, negotiate contracts, forecast sales activities and plan for growth.

  • Design and implement strategic sales plans.

  • Review market analyses to determine client needs, price schedules and strategy.

  • Understand and adapt to factors that influence business regionally and nationally.

  • Stay current with the industry and understand competitor strengths and weaknesses.

  • Analyze sales data, identify market expansion opportunities and recommend product line improvements to strengthen market position.

  • Generate and present sales reports and provide consistent and direct feedback to leadership and teammates on the sales team.

  • Work with marketing to leverage resources and analytics to support efforts for strategic proposal and presentation

  • Continuously improve through feedback.

  • Communicate effectively across the organization both horizontally and vertically. Partner with operating colleagues

  • Strong sales and sales-related function skills including commitment to Compass Sales Process

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in new business development or lead generation, preferably at national scale with multiple decision makers

  • Strong computer skills and ability to work with CRM database management system

  • Ability to represent the organization at a variety of industry and non-industry events

  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities; strong time management skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • High energy level, strong executive presence and the ability to progress further in the organization

  • Has the ability to manage career and relationships in a professional manner with Trust and Integrity

  • Experience in selling at the "C" level

  • Ability to travel extensively

  • Team Player who wants to be part of and contribute to the success of a top-caliber sales organization
