Wells Fargo Lead Software Engineer in CHARLOTTE, North Carolina
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer. Authorization and Posting product in Consumer Technology (CT) is seeking a Lead software engineer to be part of the Core Banking Deposits/Transaction Processing product area. This position will be part of the scrum team focusing on COBOL development and build highly scalable, resilient business services applications. The ideal candidate will partner with business/technical product managers, systems architects, and others engineers to develop critical solutions. In addition, this position will play a key role in managing/supporting all technology risk remediation/management tasks and focus on transformation activities including tech modernization, cloud migration, and test automation. Candidate will also be responsible to ensure technology solutions implemented adheres to enterprise policies and standards including documentation of items such as Security Plans, Service Level Agreements, and general system documentation.
In this role, you will:
Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4+ years of experience with end-to-end design and delivery of COBOL applications
4+ years of Mainframe experience
4+ years of zOS experience
4+ years of NDM, MQ, JCL, IBM Utilities experience
4+ years of Agile experience
3+ years of DB2 experience
Desired Qualifications:
10+ years of software design and development experience in leading/managing mainframe applications in a high volume production environment.
Experience supporting, leading and working with offshore teams
Experience with one or more Agile tools used for tracking user stories or backlogs, such as Confluence or Jira
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
Knowledge and understanding of secure SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) methodologies, including static/dynamic testing
Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse, geographically distributed team (including onshore and offshore)
Experience with one or more Observability/Monitoring tools: Elastic, Kibana, Grafana, AppDynamics, Splunk, and Dynatrace

Ability to work in a hybrid office environment
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
