Join Our Team as a Lab Technician (HVAC)!

Location: Charlotte, NC

Shift: 1st Shift (Onsite Role)

We are urgently seeking a dedicated and skilled Lab Technician to join our innovative team in Charlotte, NC. This role is integral to our production and development efforts, offering you the chance to work on cutting-edge equipment and make a real impact.

What You'll Do:

As a Lab Technician, you'll play a critical role in our operations. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Equipment Mastery: You'll be at the forefront of setting up and tearing down large water-cooled chillers, ensuring they are ready for rigorous testing. Your expertise in connecting and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems will be vital.

  • System Troubleshooting: You'll operate, inspect, and maintain test setups and equipment, quickly identifying and resolving any malfunctions. Your knowledge of 460-3-60 machinery and medium voltage industrial power supplies will keep everything running smoothly.

  • HVAC Expertise: With your familiarity in HVAC operations, refrigerant handling, and EPA certification, you'll contribute to maintaining high standards. Experience with pumps, VFDs, and boilers is a plus, helping you excel in this role.

  • Technical Support: Working under moderate supervision, you'll support engineering testing of chillers, using your skills with industrial tools and your keen eye for detail.

  • Instrumentation Skills: Your ability to set up laboratory equipment with precision, particularly focusing on pressure, temperature, and electrical measurements, will be essential. You'll troubleshoot and calibrate instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability.

What You Bring:

  • Education: A High School Diploma or GED is required.

  • Experience: You bring at least 3 years of experience with hand/pneumatic tools, along with a strong background in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting. You’re mechanically inclined and comfortable with physical tasks, including moving/lifting weights up to 35 lbs.

  • Preferred Skills: Experience with HVAC systems, large commercial equipment, and instrumentation setup is highly desirable. Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex drawings, schematics, and blueprints will set you apart. Familiarity with forklift and overhead crane operation is a plus, as well as strong PC skills.

Pay Details: $28.45 per hour
