Job Summary and Description:

The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Accounting Analyst will join a long-standing EPRI research team focused on greenhouse gas emissions accounting, greenhouse gas emissions offsets, and 24/7 carbon free energy for the electric sector. Situated within the broader Energy Systems and Climate Analysis team, this analyst will collaborate with key technical staff to understand, evaluate, and articulate existing greenhouse gas emissions accounting standards, offset protocols, and other emerging challenges as appropriate.

An ideal applicant understands existing greenhouse gas emissions accounting protocols and standards, and familiarity with the unique issues for the energy sector. They also have a desire to examine complex, sector specific challenges (ex. greenhouse gas emissions accounting for common carrier infrastructure), and a willingness to learn about emerging topics as they arise.

  • Conducting technical searches on and analysis of selected research topics

  • Identification of emerging topics related to the research foci

  • Supporting the development of technical materials (i.e. technical reports, PowerPoint presentations, etc.) on sector specific topics

  • Some travel (about 10 to 15%) for conferences, meetings, electric company visits, etc. as deemed appropriate

Experience with GHG emissions accounting in at least one of (i) corporate, entity-wide GHG emissions accounting, (ii) project-based (i.e., offset project) GHG accounting; (iii) 24/7 carbon-free energy, (iii) renewable energy credit (REC) markets and GHG accounting; (iv) corporate ESG accounting and reporting is strongly preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required

  • Graduate Degree preferred

  • 1-2 years of professional experience

The salary range for this position is $95,000 USD to $102,900 USD annually.

This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.

This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, STD/LTD and paid family leave, life and accident insurance, paid time off (flexible vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay).
