KPMG is currently seeking a Director, Disaster Recovery in S&L Regulatory & Compliance for our Consulting (https://advisory.kpmg.us/) practice.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical advisory services related to relief programs for disaster recovery including: program design and management for all recovery efforts, and ensuring regulatory and process compliance in order to maximize funding and expedite rebuilding, and ensuring program integrity
Develop and implement strategies designated to maximize federal and state disaster assistance; providing expert programmatic and policy advice on federal disaster relief programs and developing long range recovery plans in the cost of reconstruction approaches cost of relocation/mitigation
Design and prepare presentations and reports, leveraging strong written communication skills in order to provide meaningful recommendations to clients
Contribute to industry and regulatory publications, write professional articles, and speak about current compliance issues at external seminars
Proactively participate in business development efforts for primary target clients within disaster locations
Schedule, plan, assign, and provide direction and review the work of the team members working on assigned engagements
Qualifications:
A minimum of eight years of recent and applicable experience in a compliance or project/program management related role, working with state and federal disaster aid programs/agencies such as Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Community Development Block Grant ? Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; current and thorough knowledge of federal laws, rules and regulations associated with federal and state disaster aid programs
Previous experience leading teams, managing projects, and accustomed to taking an active role in executing engagements
Demonstrated track record of client service and business development
Possess exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior executives
Travel may be up to eighty to one hundred percent of the time
